The Westminster Apartment - A highly bespoke renovation of a historic mansion apartment in Victorian, Westminster
Discover the Westminster Apartment, a highly bespoke interior design project in Victoria, London. Designed by Polysmiths, contrasting the historic Victorian interior with minimal, textural materials.
Polysmiths transformed this large Westminster apartment that has not been upgrades in 50 years into a serene, light-filled home through inserting a series of bespoke furniture, carpentry, and finishes. The project involved a full internal reconfiguration, including the insertion of a new arch in the grand hallway, new materials for the interior rooms, and a large bespoke kitchen all in solid walnut.
The brief called for a use of materials that lifts up the existing Victorian features, cornices and ceiling roses, with contrasting materials, including textured fluted marble tiles, creating a minimalist and coherent interior.
The Westminster Apartment exemplifies our belief in architecture that reflects the users - their individuality, their experience, and their stories are written into the architecture of their home.
