Polysmiths is an award-wining architecture studio based in Camden, north London, with projects in London, Berlin, and Hong Kong. Our projects include residential new-build, renovation and interiors, boutique hotel, restaurants and shop design.
We create spaces and objects that celebrate materials and craftsmanship, with a focus on innovation and collaboration.

We begin each of our projects from these first principles, responding to our client’s unique experience and aspirations, grounded in deep respect for traditional crafts, and a commitment to sustainability.
We draw influence from nature, art, fashion, cultural traditions, and advanced building technology to design homes and hotels sensitive to its place and time. We work regularly with a collaborative team of experienced architects, interior designers, engineers, landscape architects and builders, to develop better delivery with each project we do together.
Charles Wu founded Polysmiths after spending 15 years leading high profile public realm, housing, mixed-use, hotel developments in Hong Kong and London, working in practices including David Chipperfield Architects (London), Heatherwick Studio (London), Allford Hall Monaghan Morris (London), and Edge Design Institute (Hong Kong).
Charles Wu is a member of the Architects Registration Board (UK), and a chartered member of the RIBA. Charles Wu is also an IDEO alumni, with experience in change management leadership and strategy for innovation.
Charles has lived and worked in Hong Kong and Sydney.
