Small practices like Polysmiths making a big impact
What does it mean to make a real impact as a small architecture practice? More than just beautiful spaces (that's non-negotiable). More than awards or press (nice to have, but not the point).
Real impact for me looks like:
- A client who walks into their finished home and tears up because it finally feels like them (this happened)
- A development where buyers competed with cash offers 12.5% above asking, selling in 3 months while generic projects sat empty (that happened)
- A space that became a destination, where guests linger, take photos, and tell their friends (that also happened)
That's impact: Stay close to clients. Stay small. Stay hands-on. Stay bold, crafted, unexpected.
That's what impact means to me. But I'm curious, what does it mean to you?
Is it how a space makes you feel? The ROI? The reactions from guests? Something else entirely?
I'd love to hear your take.
